Course Description
Sarbanes Oxley: Corporate Fraud and the Future of Accounting Standards
Accounting & Auditing
(8
credits)
$109.95
Several years after its passage, the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act continues to be felt throughout the accounting world. This course reviews several of the outgrowths of the Act. Some of the less-talked-about provisions of the Act mandated certain government agencies to investigate and report to Congress on various issues affecting the financial markets and accounting.
This course takes an in-depth look at enforcement actions taken in response to violations of reporting requirements and restatements of financial statements. It also reviews recommendations that accounting standards be fundamentally altered from a rules-based to a principles-based approach.
