Download

PASS courses can be downloaded to your computer for free!  Simply follow the instructions below, and preview one or more chapters of any of our courses.  Then, when you're ready to buy, go to the catalog page and add the course or courses you've downloaded to the shopping cart.  Follow the on-screen instructions, or call us at 800-231-1860 to purchase the course!

We have chosen to separate our software from our course files so that downloading time will be faster once you have the software installed.  However, this does make for additional steps the first time you download PASS.  If you are uncomfortable with the process or have any questions, please contact us or visit our support page for additional tips.

Note: The download process can be tricky if you're new to the Internet, or have not previously downloaded files.  You may wish to contact us for help, or choose the online version of the course instead.

1. Click on the Catalog button and find the course you're interested in downloading.
2. From the Catalog page, click on the Download button located to the left of the course title and information.
   
   

   Note: some antivirus programs may interfere with the download and/or installation of the PASS software.  If this is the case, you'll need to disable your antivirus software while downloading and installing PASS.

3. From the Download page, click on the Download button next to the text Download the software engine. If you have already installed the most recent version of the software engine, skip to step #8
4. What happens next depends on your browser.  Recent versions of both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator ask if you would like to Run it from its current location or Save this program to disk.  (The wording may be slightly different.  For example, Internet Explorer V6 asks if you would like to Open the file, or Save it to disk).
   

    

   If you select Run it from its current location/Open, the software engine begins downloading.  When the download is complete, the following prompt may appear:     This indicates that the we have certified that the file being downloaded is safe and free from viruses.  Click the Yes button to start the installation program.  Otherwise, if the Security Warning prompt does not appear, the installation will start automatically .  After the installation, the download files (but not the installed programs) will be removed from your computer.  Proceed to step #7.

   If you select Save, the browser will prompt you for a location on your computer's hard drive (not a floppy disk) to save the file.  You may leave the default location that the browser has chosen, or type in a new location.  Next, click on the OK button to begin the download.

5. After saving the download file to your computer's hard disk, your browser's downloading progress box might a) disappear; b) indicate the download is complete; or c) indicate the download is complete and give you an Open option or Open Folder option. 

    

   For options "a" and "b", proceed to step #6.

    

   If your browser gives provides option "c ", click the Open button and skip to step #7.

6. Once the download is complete, you must install the software engine.  Locate the pass32.exe file that you just downloaded.  Then, in Windows Explorer, double-click on it to launch the install program.  If you can't find the pass32.exe file, click here.
7. At this point the WinZip self extractor window should be displayed.
   
   

   

   
   Click on the Setup button.  After the Setup program launches, click the Next button to proceed through the install screens.  At the final screen, click on the Finish button.

8. By this time, the PASS software engine should be installed.  You now need to download the course file.  If the Download page from step 3 is still visible in your browser, click on the Download button to the left of the text Download the course file...  (if the Download page is not visible, first repeat step #2, above).  Notice that the name of the course file is located immediately to the right of of Download the course file.
9. Repeat steps 4 through 7 to download the course file.  If, after downloading the course file, you can't find it, click here
